Seeking Happy Tails Wyoming
In Honor of Heidi’s Happy Tail, we nominate this month’s seeking happy tail to a another deserving black shepherd who is seeking furever in any state he winds up in and not just for his namesake.
Shelters across the country are beyond capacity; put-to-sleep lists continue to grow, filled with dogs who deserve a shot at a furever family, but go unnoticed for a variety of reasons - or sometimes, no reason at all.
Wyoming, a gentle 18-month-old black German Shepherd mix was one such dog. Saved from a Mississippi shelter by a rescue who reached out to TLC for help, Wyoming is a sweet, playful, medium-energy pup with a shepherd-like personality. He is thriving in his TLC foster home, but deserves a furever home of his own.
Wyoming is a friendly guy who adores dogs and people alike; he loves to play with other dogs, and will follow “his” people around the house. He also loves toys, and can self-entertain by chewing a bone or tossing a ball to himself. Wyoming is a smart boy who is doing well with training - he is food-motivated and knows “sit” - and benefits from a lot of mental stimulation, like puzzle toys and continued training, to stave off boredom. He is housebroken and crate-trained; though he might cry when he first goes in his crate, he quickly quiets and sleeps through the night.
Before coming to TLC, Wyoming tested positive for heartworm, highlighting the importance of consistent heartworm prevention, and is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which TLC will continue to cover. This sweet soul deserves the very best life with humans who understand the quirks and gifts that accompany living with a shepherd.
Maybe it’s you!
