BRIE & BELLAGIO

Most Improved

Casino and her six puppies – Mirage, Bellagio, Mandalay, Bally, Flamingo, and Venetian – arrived at TLC from a horrible situation in Mississippi. The furry family had been kept outside in a pen, exposed to such elements as freezing cold temperatures and disease-carrying mosquitoes. Casino was heartworm positive, and the puppies, with no socialization or experience with human kindness and love, were wary of human touch.

Once in loving foster homes, the puppies began to learn to trust their people, slowly coming out of their shells. They began offering tail wags and allowing an occasional pet under the chin; albeit with ample time and patience. With perseverance, patience, and encouragement, some of the puppies were soon ready for their forever families.

We loved watching this family hit the jackpot with their new families. They reminded us that no two dogs have the same journey and with love and attention, we can help turn the worst of backgrounds into the happiest of happy tails.

While we ask you to celebrate “Love Your Pet Day” on the 20th of this month, we are reminded that every dog deserves a loving forever home to grow and thrive at their own pace. Brie (FKA Venetian) has done just that.

“Brie is fit and agile as if she didn't have two super challenging knees at birth. She is fast and loves running. She is the tag-along little sister always ready for a tussle with our older dog, a trip to the garage with me, a journey in the car. Very wary and shy to begin with, she is still hesitant but less so all of the time. She is always sniffing the world around her and loves a snuggly cuddle on the bed. Brie is family now and we are ever so grateful for TLC and the care you all made possible so that she could live her best life with us.” - Brie’s furever family

Our beloved Bellagio is still looking for her forever home. She’s been with TLC for over a year and in that time she has come a long way. She was the most shy of her siblings and struggled to connect with people.

With special attention and the right diagnosis for her anxiety, she’s grown tremendously. She is calmer, more interested in people and other dogs, and starting to relax in social situations. All of this has revealed more of her personality and quirkiness.

She would do best in a household with a strong and confident dog to show her the ropes - and a patient forever family that understands her difficult past and wants to help her grow.

Bellagio wants to graduate into a forever home and would do best with a family that is patient and understanding of her background.
